England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the upcoming Young Athlete of the Year award.

The trio have been honoured for their exceptional achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang helped the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the very first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a historic innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The three contenders were unveiled on a popular morning radio program.

The 2025 recipient will be announced during a live broadcast on the prestigious sports ceremony show on December 18th.

The event will be broadcast from seven in the evening GMT.

The Football Star

Just three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She was introduced as a substitute to score key tying goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final.

These match-saving moments led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Later in the year, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the best young player in Europe.

She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.

Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"To be named a finalist for this honour is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler kicked off the year in spectacular fashion as - while still 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.

And he wasn't finished there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the maiden occasion.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, smashing the previous record.

"Earning a spot on the shortlist for this award again is a big honour," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a proud moment for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."

Perrin's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and burst into the spotlight with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.

Perrin came in second place in the batting rankings and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it inspires more girls to get into cricket."
